IoT Empowers Vannamei Shrimp Farming

In the aquaculture industry, “relying on the weather” has long been a major headache for many farmers — and South American white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) farming is no exception. Water quality fluctuations, disease risks, and oversights during manual inspections can all lead to significant losses.

To address these pain points, Yanjitech has developed a tailor-made, full-process IoT hardware-software integrated solution specifically for local white shrimp farmers.

Designed around the high environmental requirements of South American white shrimp, this independently developed system continuously monitors critical water quality parameters — including pH, dissolved oxygen, water temperature, and salinity — while simultaneously managing feed distribution and responding to dynamic environmental changes.

Powered by a cloud platform, the system delivers intelligent alerting: whenever abnormal water quality or potential disease risks are detected, instant notifications are pushed via mobile APP and SMS, enabling farmers to intervene quickly and minimize losses.

The solution not only dramatically reduces manual patrol costs and improves operational efficiency, but also drives the farming model toward greener and more sustainable practices — effectively increasing shrimp survival rates and overall yield.

The project leader at Yanjitech shared: “Deeply aligning with customer needs is the core of project success. From on-site assessment and requirement breakdown to solution deployment and continuous optimization, we have always closely integrated technology with real-world farming practices — truly empowering farmers through digitalization. Customer feedback shows a substantial reduction in farming incidents, and this recognition continues to drive us forward.”

As a dedicated player in the IoT space, Yanjitech has successfully delivered over 100 vertical-industry digitalization projects. The South American white shrimp farming project stands as a representative success story among them.

Moving forward, we will continue to share more industry-specific digital transformation solutions through this and future case studies, helping more practitioners achieve intelligent upgrading.
